School Council & Parents’ Association

School Council / Conseil scolaire

The mission of the school council is to provide input to the principal on school policies and support the efforts of parents and staff in providing the best education possible for all students.

The École Corinthia Park School Council contains seven to 10 members which consist of the principal of the school, one parent of a student enrolled in the English program, one parent of a student enrolled in the French Immersion Program, one parent of a child enrolled in the ECS program, two to five additional parents, and one teacher elected by the teachers of the school. The parent positions on this board are elected at the annual general meeting of the council. The role of the school council is to advise the principal on matters involving the school and the students. A chairperson is elected from the parent members of the council.

If you are interested in the policies and priorities set in your child’s school, a position on the school council may be for you. Meetings are held monthly and are open to all parents. Please plan to attend; your opinion matters. Meeting times will be announced in the Cougar Chronicles newsletter, on the events calendar on the website, and on the school’s Facebook page.

Parents’ Association / Association des parents

The École Corinthia Park School Parents’ Association is made up of active parent volunteers, with elections held each September to appoint executive positions. In addition to these positions, various committees are formed to assist the executive in goal and priority settings. This group sponsors school dances, class field trips, hot dog days, bake sales, and various school beautification projects. The funding provided by this group assists our school community in meeting many of their goals. Monthly meetings are held and all parents are encouraged to attend. Whether you have little time to give or are looking for a larger volunteer commitment and fun, this is a great way to get involved.
